November's Book: Allegiant by Veronica Roth
Author: Veronica Roth
Pages: 526 (Hardcover)
Publisher: Harper Collins
Date of release: 22nd October 2013
One choice will define you.
What if your whole world was a lie? What if a single revelation—like a single choice—changed everything? What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected?
The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered—fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.
But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.
Told from a riveting dual perspective, Allegiant, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the Divergent series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.
In the case that you might have been living under a rock this past week or so, the third (and last) book in the Divergent series has been released. Followers have also been asking to re-ignite the book club so I'm doing just that, and what better book to read together than the infamous trilogy's last book?
We would be doing this differently this month. Instead of discussing it on Twitter, I would host a live chat instead, where we can freely discuss the book without having to fear spoiling it for others on Twitter. This live chat will be open to anyone and everyone and the link will be tweeted on the dat itself, so be sure to follow our Twitter for updates on that.
Grab a copy at your nearest Books & Beyond store now. Most have purchased it there for about 150.000, but I got mine at Open Trolley for 187.000 (hardcover, eeeek!). They had free shipping so I thought why not.
That's all for this post. Admins of @DivergentID and @Fourfection will also be joining us this month. Isn't that enough reason for you to come and join in? Enough persuasion I think. I'll leave you to your book, your feels and your Kleenex (I heard that tissues are needed for this book). See you guys on the 29th of November (Friday) at 8pm. Time and date might change, so keep a lookout for our confirmation over on our Twitter account.
See you there!
