"When I woke up this morning, I thought today was going to be one of the toughest days I’ve had in two years. Who knew the anniversary of the worst day of my life might possibly end on a good note."
Colleen Hoover's best book to date. Best book of 2015. Best book I've ever read so far. Period.
I'm not even being biased cause she's my #1 favorite author. This book is just THAT amazing. And that's coming from Colleen Hoover.
I'm still an emotional wreck. I don't know where to start. But I'll try to be as coherent as possible. So here goes nothing..
With Colleen's addictive storytelling style, I flew by 75% of this book in one sitting. It's so fast-paced! I thought that I could just finish it right away, but I was wrong. Man, was I wrong.
The plot is unique and it has a nice “Before Sunrise” feel to it.
You know, that movie where this guy met this girl, felt a connection, promised to see each other again at the same place, same time the next year?
It’s unrealistic in the best way. And it happens to be one of my all-time-favorite movies.
Now, you might think “meh, another cheesy insta-love.”
NUH’UH. I’m gonna stop your quick judgment right there!
Colleen Hoover managed to end every single chapter with a twist. Some twists made me grin like a lunatic in love. But the twists in some chapters hurt like hell.
Every plot twist caught me off guard. I mean, yes, a plot twist is usually unpredictable, but the ones in November 9 are insane!
It's like some demon pulled the rug from under my feet and I fell straight into a hellhole of feels.
After that one single chapter I realized it was too freaking much, too freaking painful for me to carry on.
It was 2.30 am and I was a dry-heaving, blubbering mess. Very unattractive, I know. I decided I had to take a breather before returning to it.
Besides the mind-blowing plot, the characters and their developments hypnotized me to keep turning the pages.
Ben and Fallon are both witty and sarcastic. I really enjoyed reading these two bicker back and forth.
I can assure you Benton James Kessler will become your next book boyfriend.
Dark disheveled hair? Check. Sense of humor? Check. Flawed? Hmm check. (Weirdly enough, we like our fictional boys flawed. Don’t we?)
He says all the right things, does all the right things. Until he doesn’t.
I can relate to both Ben and Fallon so much. But Fallon and I, we're like kindred spirits. We happen to have the same views on falling in love.
Before this gets too personal and weird lol, here’s an excerpt:
“It’s easy to fall in love, Ben. The hard part comes when you want out. Falling in love may not be a conscious decision, but removing yourself from the situation before it happens is. So if I meet someone I think I might fall in love with . . . I’ll just remove myself from their presence until I’m ready for it.”
I didn't even read the synopsis. I just jumped in head first because to be honest, I knew this book would be amazing. It's Colleen Hoover, after all. *eye roll*
November 9 has seriously ruined me for every other book.
Whether you read romance or not, November 9 is abso-freaking-lutely a MUST read.
